Rose Cottage, which has two bedrooms, has been entirely renovated and tastefully restored to a high standard that enhances its original charm and many of its original features. There are lovely views over the rose garden, the fountain and the 12th-century dovecote.
The bedrooms have lime washed walls, exposed oak beams, and chestnut floorboards. One bedroom has twin beds which can also be made into a large double; the other bedroom has a 160 x 200 (queen size) bed. Each bedroom has its own shower room with en suite WC and heated towel radiator, large walk in Italian-style shower, all tiled in pale honey-coloured Dordogne stone.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with modern appliances including induction stovetop, microwave, espresso and percolator coffee makers, electric food mixers and juice maker. The cottage has central heating, and the lounge/dining area has the original stone fireplace, and a supply of firewood for colder evenings. There is an Ipod docking station, a flat screen TV with French and English channels, a DVD player, and wifi connexion.
On the lower level is a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, a large Belfast sink, iron and ironing board, and plenty of cupboards and space for outdoor shoes and coats.
Outside, there are two private terraces with tables and chairs, and a parasol. The lovely garden has a stone water basin and fountain shaded by a huge Lime tree. Guests are free to walk or picnic throught Le Manoir's grounds, and to play pétanque (boules) and badminton on the lawn.
The cottage is decorated and furnished with antiques, fine linens, English bone china for tea time, and hand-painted French furniture. All sheets, bath and pool towels are provided. The mattresses, pillows, and bed linen are of a high quality. Let us know if you prefer blankets or duvets, or if you have any allergies to duck or goose down. Clean sheets and towels are provided every Saturday.
There is a private car park next to the Cottage, and a welcome hamper awaits you on your arrival which includes a bottle of local wine, homemade cake and jam, bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk, and eggs from the farm. A light meal can be prepared for you by prior reques.
